Technical Writing

Most of becoming 9000 series certified is to have documented, consistent processes.  This includes business processes, administrative processes, manufacturing processes, all processes...  We will come in, talk with all the people involved in the process and document their process.  They will then verify to ensure that we have captured their process accurately.  Here are some types of documents we have written.

ERP and Project Management

ERP Projects will require a major look at how you do business and how you want to do business in the future.  We can help you ensure that the ERP software you select will work for you by doing a Site Survey to develop a concise list of requirements.  This will include creating a current flow of how your business processes work today and identifying where you would like to improve. Below outlines some of the processes we use to help ensure you select and implement the best ERP-WMS-MRP-CRM system for your business.

Site Survey - Benchmark, through a series of interviews with people at all levels and in all business units, where you are today so you can see the actual benefits to improved business and manufacturing systems.

Analysis - Review flows produced from site survey to help identify duplicate or inefficient/ ineffective work.  Document and create proposed flows where process improvements are incorporated. Identify measurements to ensure you are getting the most out of any changes that are implemented.

Facilitate - Create a project plan, identifying resources required and goal of project.  Presentation of all material to senior management. Outcome is the creation of a team of people dedicated to implementing the proposed changes and risk analysis.

Training and KPI - Ensure that all new processes are documented and the intellectual property is transferred to internal people.  Training all people involved in the processes and documenting with user instructions so that future employees can also be assured that they are working with the process accurately. Key Performance Indicators are set up to ensure that systems in place continue to work and potential concerns are noted before problems occur.

Project Management

We will come in and talk with the people involved with the project.  All levels and all people.

We will work with management and coordinate the activities of the internal people as well as the external people.  Attention will be paid to the milestone due dates as well as the associated costs.

Risks and problem areas will be identified and dealt with appropriately.

MS Project is used as well as Visio for developing visuals of business and process flows.

User Training

A system implementation is only as good as it is received by the participants in the system.  If the users of the system have not been fully trained then the business will not reap the full benefit of the implemented system.  User training can take place on site or off site.

Business Analysis

In just about every effort that Technology Design Group Inc. becomes involved, there is significant business analysis required.   Understanding your business is key to being able to develop tools that will help you conduct business with less effort.  We will take the time to talk with the people that are involved with your business and learn first hand how things are done today.  This site survey is done through a series of interviews and is a way of benchmarking where you are today.

Next a funtional flow chart of the current process is created and analyzed.  From this current flow, we will identify where improvements can be made and then put together a future flow whcih will show how the new process will work with the improvements implemented.

During this activity, the entire process is documented.  Output from Business Analysis could fall into one or more fothe following categories:  Flow Charts, Process Improvements, Procedures, and Report summarizing findings and suggestions for where the largest dollars may be reaped with changes.
